- As with any LUG we should set up at least one installfest a year. I propose we try to done one a semester/quarter of UAB (whatever they are on) that way we can try to reach more people. This is stuff we should plan ahead of time to make sure it goes smoothly and is a good experience for the first time users. I think we should discuss this further on the list and at meetings.

- This idea was brought up by several people in the group. The initial concept is to create a livecd version of linux probably using ubuntu (debian). I propose this project can be to create a BALU full distro just for fun and practice. THis would be a good thing for newbies and experts to work on as a group. Phase I: should be to create the bootable cd. we can use ibuild. Phase II: work on a customized version of BALU linux.

If anybody has specific experience with a specific install, whether it was beastly or a dream. Post it and let others know of installs to avoid or pieces of hardware the should desired for installation or CompatibilityIssues.
BluetoothCellphoneAuthentication
- While bluetoothd is running, if chosen device (such as a cell phone) is detected within 2m - 10m from the computer running bluetooth, the pc will authenticate the user (owner of the cell phone). Inversely, when the authenicated device is outside of the range of the pc, it can or will lock the system.
Currently we are in the middle of our new logo contest. We will be accepting new logo designs until the end of January and then the Group will vote on our official new logo. To add a logo for the competition add it to this wikipage 'BaluLogo' also you can send it to the mailing list.
