I'm Rob Tillotson and I've been using some form of Unix since the early 80s, and Linux since 1995 or so. My main desktop platform lately is Mac OS X, the combination of lovely UI, Cocoa apps, and BSD under the hood being too hard to resist. My primary job is Python development on Linux for a company in Texas, but I am also doing Ruby on Rails work now too. As far as open source goes, I used to have a lot of projects I was working on (once upon a time I was even a Debian developer), but I got kind of burned out on programming for a while. Now, I'm trying to start up work on some Rails/Ruby related things.
I'd be more than willing to do a presentation on Rails for a meeting some time... something along the lines of how to build a working web application in less time than it takes to have a LUG meeting
